Isiah Canion was one of Georgia's biggest acquisitions out of the Transfer Portal this offseason. He came to Georgia after spending two seasons at Georgia Tech, and he was expected to be a central piece of the Bulldogs' passing attack this year.

He unfortunately was hurt during the second game of Georgia's season and hasn't seen the field since. Earlier this week though he was marked probable to play on Georgia's official injury report and on Thursday he was nowhere to be found on their report which means he has been officially cleared to play.

Georgia WR Isiah Canion injury update is great news for UGA

Canion has only recorded three receptions for 28 yards this season. That can't be held against him though because the starters barely played in Georgia's season opener against Tennessee State before he got hurt the following week in Week 2.

Canion has a lot of potential though that Georgia hasn't seen yet. Last year at Georgia Tech he was an integral part of their talented offense as he recorded 33 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns. He isn't a player that will ever be the No. 1 target in Georgia's offense, but he can be another reliable option for Gunner Stockton in a game where UGA needs a lot of offense.

This injury update does need to be taken with a grain of salt. Nate Frazier came off Georgia's injury report heading into the Alabama game, but he still didn't play. Based on that it still isn't a 100 percent guarantee that Canion will play against Ole Miss, but he most likely will be available.

This is great timing for Georgia because the Ole Miss offense, with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, dominated UGA the two times they played last season. Georgia's offense likely needs to score a lot of points to win this game, and Canion being back on the field will help them accomplish that.

Chauncey Bowens still questionable to play vs Ole Miss

While it looks like Georgia will finally be getting Canion back, the same can't be said for running back Chauncey Bowens. On Thursday's injury report he was still listed as questionable to play, so there is a chance he will be able to suit up against the Rebels. There however is just as good of a chance that he won't be able to play either.

Bowens hasn't played since the Vanderbilt game nearly a month ago. He is Georgia's No. 2 running back who has scored six touchdowns this season, so similarly to Canion the Bulldogs' offense would be at their best with him in the lineup against Ole Miss.

Georgia thankfully has plenty of pieces in their running back room to make up for Bowens if he isn't able to play this weekend. Frazier is back for his third game since being injured and Dwight Phillips has been one of the biggest surprises so far this season, but there's no denying that Georgia would be significantly better with Bowens in the lineup.

Another injury report will come out Friday night before one final injury update about an hour before kickoff on Saturday.
