Georgia is yet to find success recruiting the quarterback position in the 2027 recruititng class. Some of that may have to do with the fact they have already earned a commitment from the No. 1 quarterback in the 2028 class, but something needs to change in this cycle.
The first domino to fall in Georgia's favor may have fallen on Tuesday as four-star quarterback Peter Bourque announced his decommitment from Michigan. And almost immediately after that news came out Georgia was linked to his recruitment.

Georgia played a big part in 4-star QB decommitting from Michigan
Bourque is a four-star quarterback who is the No. 86 overall player in the country, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He also is the No. 6 quarterback in the 2027 class and the No. 1 overall player from his home state of Massachusettes.
Georgia has had their eyes on Bourque for quite some time. The Bulldogs first offered him a scholarship back in July, but just a few weeks later he announced his commitment to Michigan. This looked like the end of Georgia's chances with him, but Kirby Smart and his staff had other ideas.
Fast forward a few months and it is more apparent now than ever before that Georgia has a chance to win this recruitment. The Bulldogs were publicly linked with Bourque immediately after he backed off his commitment to Michigan, so that proves UGA played a part in this decision.
Penn State, Florida, Virginia Tech and North Caroline have also been linked with Bourque as well. This shows that actually coming out on top in this recruitment is going to be no small task. But Georgia is right where they want to be as they are finally picking up some momentum with one of the top quarterbacks in the country.
