Georgia football gets good news regarding Dillon Bell's injury
Almost everything that could have gone right did go right for Georgia football during their 31-17 win against Tennessee on Saturday. Georgia looked as good as they have on the field all season, the atmosphere was electric, and the Bulldogs are already getting some good news on the recruiting trail this week as well.
But one thing that did not go well for Georgia was starter Dillon Bell getting injured during the second quarter of Saturday's game.
Bell appeared to hurt his ankle on a carry deep in Tennessee territory, and this injury kept him out for the remainder of the game. During Kirby Smart's postgame press conference, he didn't have much to share yet regarding this injury, but there was some fear that it could be significant.
However, fast forward to Monday morning and Georgia got some great news regarding this injury.
Dillon Bell to only miss one week
According to reports from DawgsHQ of On3, Bell did not suffer a serious injury against Tennessee. It appears this injury is not a high ankle injury or one that will require surgery. Bell is still expected to miss Georgia's next game against UMass, but the expectation is that he will be back in time for the regular season finale against Georgia Tech.
Georgia has received bad news with injuries all season long, but it finally looks like things are going their way. Sure Bell will miss some time, but in the grand scheme of things, missing the game against UMass isn't a big deal. Georgia should have no issues winning this game without Bell, so it'd be wise for Smart to rest Bell for this game either way.
Let's hope Georgia is able to continue to avoid major injuries the rest of the season, so that way they are as healthy as possible for a potential postseason run.
