Georgia football just got some of the best news they could have hoped for late on Saturday night. No, they did not get a commitment, but the news they received was the next best thing you could hope to receive on the recruiting trail.
This news came in the form of making an elite recruit's top four, but after diving into this recruitment a little more it really isn't all that surprising to see Kirby Smart and Georgia make the cut.

5-star RB Savion Hiter
Savion Hiter is a five-star running back from Mineral, VA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Hiter is the No. 17 overall player in the country. He also is the top ranked running back in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 1 player from Virginia.
Hiter releasesd some massive news in his recruitment late Saturday night as he announced who his top four schools are, and Georgia made the cut according to Hayes Fawcett with On3. Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee were also included in Hiter's top four along with the Bulldogs as well.
Georgia making this top four is not surprising because they have been in contact with Hiter with quite some time now. Hiter also came to Athens last season for the Tennessee game and was also at Georgia's Junior Day on Feb. 1 as well. So this news was expected from Georgia's perspective.
This recruitment will be hard to win because of how talented all of these programs are, but Georgia has to love where they stand right now. Michigan was once thought to be the leader in this recruitment, but On3 actually gives the Bulldogs the slight edge according to his profile on their recruiting site.
This may not end up meaning all that much right now, but it shows Georgia has a chance to win this recruitment which is good for now since it is only February.
