Georgia football is at the halfway point of their season where they currently hold a 5-1 overall record and 3-1 record in the SEC. The Bulldogs have faced one of the most difficult schedules in the country up to this point which includes games against Alabama, Tennessee and Auburn, so their record is something they should be proud of.
Unfortunately their schedule does not get any easier as they welcome the undefeated Ole Miss Rebels who are the No. 5 team in the country to Athens this weekend. This game is going to be extremely difficult for Georgia to win, especially after factoring in all the wear and tear UGA has been through over the past few weeks.
But all Georgia needs to do is survive this Saturday's game against Ole Miss and there is a nice reward waiting for them next week in the form of their second bye week of the season.
Georgia has a nice reward waiting for them next week
After Georgia's game against Ole Miss this weekend they will begin their second bye week of the season. This is an amazing reward for UGA after what has been an insane stretch of games since their first bye week of the season.
Georgia's first bye week came after their week three win against Tennessee. Since then they had to play Alabama, Kentucky, Auburn and now Ole Miss. Four game stretches do not get much more difficult than that, so they could definitely use some rest to prepare for the rest of the season.
Thankfully that is exactly what they will get next week after they get through their game against the Rebels.
Georgia will be able to use next week to get some extra rest, have more recovery time for their injured Bulldogs, and to devote extra time preparing for their future opponents. This next week will be critical for Georgia as they will hopefully be gearing up for their final run at repeating as SEC Champions.
But the Bulldogs have to get through Ole Miss first, and their bye week won't feel like much of a reward if they lose to the Rebels. So in order to get the most out of next week, Georgia needs to beat Ole Miss because a loss could ultimately end their season and make the benefits of a bye week feel irrelevant.
