One of Georgia's top commits in their 2026 recruiting class is four-star defensive back Tyriq Green. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Green is the No. 167 overall player in the country, so it's easy to see why his commitment is a big deal for the Bulldogs.
Unfortunately it appears his commitment is in jeopardy because he took a visit this past weekend to watch Miami (FL) take down Florida.
VIP: Buford (Ga.) DB Tyriq Green is expected to visit Miami this weekend. The Georgia commit was strongly considering the Hurricanes this summer before committing to the Bulldogs.

While simply taking a visit doesn't mean that a recruit is going to flip to that school, a Georgia insider gave a warning to UGA fans about this recruitment on Tuesday.

Georgia losing ground with key 4-star commit
Green committed to Georgia on July 12 and immediately became one of the highlights of UGA's entire class. Unfortunately the Bulldogs appear to be losing ground in his recruitment because of his visit to Miami and this warning from Rivals insider Radi Nabulsi.
The good news for Georgia is that they are still the team who holds his commitment and Green is still keeping communication with UGA open. In fact, Green will reportedly be in Athens this weekend when the Bulldogs take on Alabama.
This will be Georgia's best chance to remind Green why he committed to UGA in the first place and that there is no need to keep his recruitment with other teams open going forward.
No one knows how this recruitment will play out, but there are apparently good reasons for Georgia fans to be nervous. But at the end of the day UGA shouldn't be too worried because if Green wants to decommit and held elsewhere then he was never meant to be here in the first place.
But hopefully that is not the case because Green has a lot of potential that Georgia could use in the coming years.
