4-star safety is Georgia's next commit
Green is one of the top players from the Peach State, so winning this recruitment was always extremely important for Georgia. Thankfully Kirby Smart and his staff were the leaders in this battle for quite some time and were able to come out on top and make Green the third recruit to commit to Georgia this month.
Green is now the 29th player to commit to Georgia's 2026 recruiting class. He also is the seventh player to announce their commitment to UGA from the secondary as well, so the Bulldogs could be all set in their secondary in the 2026 class.
While earning one commitment on any day is a big deal, the Bulldogs actually earned two. Five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro is announced his commitment to Georgia only a few minutes ago over Florida, Texas, Auburn and Alabama. So Georgia not only added one of the best safeties in the country, they also added one of the top tight ends as well.
This commitment from Green unfortunately wasn't enough to move Georgia past USC for the No. 1 class in the country. Even coming Green’s commitment with commitment from Prothro still kept UGA at No. 2 in the 247Sports 2026 team recruiting rankings as well. But Georgia has a few more high profile targets they are still after, so they could take over the top ranked class soon.
But for now, Georgia fans can celebrate these commitments from Green and Prothro who are both some of UGA's top commits so far in their 2026 recruiting class.
