Georgia football just took down Alabama on Monday by earning a commitment from four-star EDGE Khamari Brooks. While this is a monumental recruiting win for the Bulldogs, there isn’t much time to celebrate as many UGA targets are scheduled to announce their commitments in the coming days as well.
One of those recruits is five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro, who just shared that he will announce his commitment on July 12. On top of that, Rivals insider Sam Spiegelman shared that Prothro will be deciding between Georgia, Florida and Texas when he announces his commitment next month.

Georgia’s still the team to beat for 5-star TE Kaiden Prothro
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Prothro is the No. 25 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 3 tight end in the 2026 recruiting class and No. 3 player from the state of Georgia.
Prothro is potentially the most important target remaining for the Bulldogs to land because last month they missed on the No. 1 tight end in the country. There really aren’t any other tight ends Georgia is pursuing right now either, so missing on Prothro would mean the Bulldogs don’t have any other options readily available to replace him.
Thankfully fellow Rivals insider Radi Nabulsi shared an update on social media about where Georgia stands with Prothro, stating “Dawgs still lead here.”
Considering there are still about three weeks left until Prothro announces his final decision, it is still possible for Georgia to lose this recruitment. That is especially the case because both Texas and Florida have proven they can come from behind late to win recruitments.
But Georgia fans should expect to get good news from Prothro next month as the Bulldogs are the clear leader in his recruitment as of today.
