Georgia football may have lost a commit earlier on Monday when wide receiver Vance Spafford flipped his commitment to Miami (FL), but the bad vibes didn’t last long in Athens. Four-star EDGE Khamari Brooks named UGA and Alabama as his two finalists, and the No. 112 player in the country just announced that he has officially committed to Georgia.

Alabama proves to be no match for Georgia with 4-star EDGE

It’s nothing new to see Georgia and Alabama do battle for the top recruits in the country, especially those from the south. That is exactly what this recruitment turned into as Brooks named UGA and the Tide as his two favorites long before he announced his commitment. Brooks also is from the Peach State, so keeping him in Georgia and winning this recruitment was that much more important.

Another reason this commitment is so big is because of the threat Alabama is to Georgia. Even with Nick Saban no longer at Alabama, the Tide aren’t going anywhere. As it stands today, the SEC still runs through Alabama and Georgia along with newcomer Texas, so the more recruitments Georgia can win against these two programs the better.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Brooks is the No. 112 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 14 EDGE in the 2026 recruiting class and No. 13 player from the state of Georgia. So these rankings and the fact that UGA was able to defeat Alabama along the way make this a massive win.

This commitment was the second day in a row that Georgia earned a big win on the recruiting trail. Sunday the Bulldogs were able to flip four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle from Auburn, so Georgia has done an excellent job these last few days dominating the two schools from Alabama.

Can Georgia remain hot on the recruiting trail? Only time will tell, but all signs point towards more good news coming very soon for Georgia.
