Georgia football has remained scorching hot on the recruiting trail on Sunday as they have earned yet another commitment. This time however it came in the form of a flip as UGA has reportedly earned a commitment from four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle, who was previously committed to Auburn.

Georgia steals coveted recruit from rival Auburn
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Toodle is the No. 166 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 9 linebacker in the 2026 class and the No. 9 player from his home state of Alabama.
This commitment not only is a massive deal because of how talented of a player Toodle is, but the fact that Kirby Smart was able to flip him from an SEC program makes it that much better. But it wasn't just any program Georgia stole Toodle from, they took him from rival Auburn. And to top it all off, Toodle was an in-state recruit for Auburn, so this win really doesn't get any better for Georgia.
Georgia's 2026 linebacker class now has a chance to become one of the highlights of UGA's entire 2026 recruiting class. Toodle so far is the only linebacker in this class to commit to Georgia, but many expect Tyler Atkinson, who is the No. 1 linebacker in the country, to eventually join him in Georgia's recruiting class.
This commitment is reason enough for Georgia fans to celebrate like crazy for the next few days, but all signs point towards more good news coming very soon for the Bulldogs. In fact, a Georgia insider claimed that UGA could add upwards of 10 commits in the next 10 days, so this very well could be the first of many big announcements that will be going Georgia's way in the next few days.
