Georgia football has continued their meteoric rise on the recruiting trail after landing four-star offensive lineman Ekene Ogboko on Wednesday. This commitment gave Georgia the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, only trailing USC who has 12 more commits than Georgia.

While having the No. 2 class is extremely good, the Bulldogs want to finish with the best class in the country. And in order to do that, they are going to have earn a lot more commitments from the top players in the country.

Thankfully they are on the verge of doing just that, according to On3's Chad Simmons.

"Tyriq Green is Kirby Smart's guy. I like where Georgia sits."

Georgia named the clear leader for 4-star ATH Tyriq Green

Georgia hosted four-star ATH Tyriq Green, who is the No. 151 player in the country, on June 13. This was his third and final official visit he took this June as he also visited Miami (FL) and rival Auburn.

Green is an in-state prospect for Georgia and is the No. 21 overall player from the Peach State. But even though Green is from Georgia that does not automatically mean he will commit to the Bulldogs as many other recruits from the state have chosen to go elsewhere already.

However, it appears that Georgia is the clear leader for Green based on the above statement from Simmons.

On top of this quote, Georgia also has a crystal ball prediction in their favor on 247Sports as well. 247Sports also has Georgia as the only "warm" team on his profile, which once again shows how much better of a spot they are in compared to Miami and Auburn.

Green has not yet announced a commitment date, but he realisitically could come off the board in the very near future. And if he does, the expectation will be for Georgia to win this recruitment and get that much closer to surpassing USC atop the 2026 team recruiting rankings.
