After a quiet few weeks, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has heard some buzz on the recruiting trail, and it all started with the commitment of 4-star wide receiver Ryan Mosley. Now, Smart is working on the commitment of another 4-star recruit, but he is battling SEC foe Tennessee for this one.
Smart is working to get 4-star Kedric Golston II, son of former Georgia Bulldog and 11-year NFL veteran Kedric Golston, to join the Bulldogs in 2026. Golston has official visits set up with both Georgia and Tennessee, as well as Rutgers and Virginia Tech, but it seems his top choices are the Bulldogs and the Volunteers.
Golston isn't set to visit the Bulldogs in June, but he has said it is an honor to be recruited by his father's Alma Mater. Golston's father attended Georgia from 2002 to 2005, playing four years for the Bulldogs and was a part of the 2002 SEC Championship-winning team.
Now, Golston has a chance to live out his father's legacy at Georgia, but that is if Tennessee doesn't beat out the Bulldogs.
Georgia's recrutiing hot streak could get even hotter in the coming weeks
The Georgians hosted their first official visit weekend a few weeks ago, where they brought in nine official visitors. They are set to welcome 15 more this upcoming weekend and have a whole host of players set to come in in June, including Golston.
While everyone is getting excited for the 2025 season, this is the time when the coaching staff is really focusing on recruiting and building the future of the program. Georgia already landed a huge commitment from 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis, along with Mosley's commitment, and is the top choice for many other highly ranked recruits.
Smart could see a whole host of commitments over the coming weeks, with the number of official visits Georgia has scheduled over the next months.
