Georgia fans don't need to despair because Carson Beck is having success at Miami. His winning through the College Football Playoff actually shows great respect for the Bulldogs and head coach Kirby Smart. Some pundits disagree, but Beck wouldn't be doing what he's doing now if it weren't for what happened at Georgia.
Sitting behind and learning from Stetson Bennett was terrific maturity building time for Beck. Being honed to growth under Smart's tutelage and demanding process, Beck's success now is directly tied to everything he got at Georgia.
Georgia can't be hurt by Carson Beck
The University of Georgia Bulldogs and their reputation are not going to be soured by Beck, even if he wins a National Championship. Whether he fully acknowledges it publicly, Beck knows that he wouldn't have the opportunity he has now without his time at Georgia.
The back-to-back National Championships catapulted Beck up the attention ladder long before he arrived at Miami. The only reason he got millions of NIL from Miami is because of the success he had at Georgia under Smart. Even still, Beck gets mentioned as "formerly from the Bulldogs," or "having two rings from his time at UGA" by announcers, reporters and media hype.
He was forged in the furnace of f-bomb laced practices in the shadow of Butts-Mehr in Athens, and his prolific passing is only an extension of what was unleashed first at Georgia. Whatever poise and leadership he brings to the Hurricane locker room is fueled by the big stages he already has played in while at Georgia.
Bulldog fans love to hate on Beck for a variety of reasons. But no one needs to get their knickers in a twist because he's winning at Miami and may win a National Championship for The U. His success just shines a brighter light on the brilliant coaching and development that Smart brings in Athens each and every season.
