Jared Curtis is the most important recruit in Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class. He is a five-star quarterback and the No. 1 QB in the country, so his arrival to Georgia next year is as anticipated as any recruit in the Kirby Smart era.
But Curtis’s commitment may not be as strong as everyone thought because he will reportedly visit Vanderbilt this weekend for the Commodores matchup against Missouri.

Jared Curtis update strikes fear in Georgia
Late Wednesday night On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported that Vanderbilt was “shooting their shot” with Curtis. Wiltfong reported that Vanderbilt was in contact with Curtis and attempting to flip him, but he felt confident they weren’t finding much success.
That however is no longer the case after the latest update in his recruitment. Curtis will reportedly visit Vanderbilt this weekend, which is the second visit he will make this week. Curtis also visited the Commodores on Wednesday to watch them practice, so Saturday’s trip will be the second for Curtis in four days.
Curtis committed to Georgia on May 5, and since then his commitment has never been in question. Up to this point he hadn’t shown even a little interest in any other school, but that all changed with these reports involving Vanderbilt.
The Commodores are a program on the rise as they are 6-1 this season and the No. 10 team in the country. They also have a superstar quarterback in Diego Pavia that they can use to show Curtis that he can be very successful if he played for them. Curtis is also from Nashville, so playing for his hometown team could be intriguing to him as well.
Curtis has remained committed to Georgia even throughout these reports, and at this point there isn’t a reason to panic yet. But Curtis is giving the Commodores a chance to win his recruitment, and that is the last thing any Georgia fan wants to see.
