Jared Curtis is likely a name that every Georgia football fan knows. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Curtis is the No. 2 overall player in the country as well as the top ranked QB in the 2026 recruiting class. Curtis also was a one time UGA commit, but he did back off of that commitment last year. His interest however in Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs has remained high.

But convincing a recruit to commit to Georgia for a second time will always be a difficult task to accomplish. But it isn’t impossible. And Curtis committing to Georgia for a second time is exactly what one recruiting expert is sensing right now.

Where is Jared Curtis leaning?

Curtis so far has had a wild back and forth recruitment. From committing to Georgia, to backing off that commitment and then showing a lot of interest in other schools, it has been challenging to get a sense of where Georgia stands.

But Rivals recruiting expert Sam Spiegelman had the following to say in a recent update about this recruitment.

”Curtis has strong ties connecting him to Georgia, which remains the program to beat in this recruitment.”

It’s important to note that Spiegelman also mentioned Oregon as another team that has “come on strong” as well as Alabama, Auburn and South Carolina who will host Curtis this summer on official visits as well. But for now, Spiegelman is confident that Georgia is the team to beat which is a big deal.

The last thing worth mentioning is that On3 reported one week ago that they believe Oregon was the team to beat for Curtis. Sure things could have changed since then, but this does muddy the water a little bit. But one thing is clear, Georgia is firmly in the running with some experts thinking that they are the current leader.
