Georgia football's heartbreaking loss to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff last season will sting for quite some time still. In all honesty, Georgia fans may be unable to completely move past that loss until Georgia is able to make a run in the CFP again.

But there is one way Georgia can get their revenge against Notre Dame to help overcome this loss as one of Notre Dame's commits will visit Athens this weekend on an official visit.

Notre Dame commit Thomas Davis Jr. will visit Georgia this weekend

Georgia is hosting their second major recruiting event of the summer this weekend as the Bulldogs will host close to 20 recruits on official visits. Most of the recruits visiting have not committed to a school yet, but there are a few that have committed elsewhere that will still be in Athens this weekend.

One of those recruits is four-star linebacker Thomas Davis Jr., who has been committed to Notre Dame since last November. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Davis is the No. 189 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 10 linebacker in the 2026 class as well as the No. 11 overall player from his home state of North Carolina.

The only other official visit on the books for Davis according to 247Sports is to Notre Dame later in June, so it appears Davis only has Georgia as a potential flip candidate. It's unclear how great of a chance UGA has at actually flipping Davis, but the fact that he is coming to Athens shows there is a little hope that they can.

If Georgia actually has a chance to flip Davis, good news will likely come out after this weekend on that front. So pay close attention to this recruitment, because if Georgia is going to flip Davis it will likely happen immediately after this weekend.
