Georgia's loss to Ole Miss in the College Football Playoff means that their season is over and they are officially in the offseason. A few years ago that meant there wouldn't be much news for fans to follow until the summer, but that no longer is the case.
The Transfer Portal dominates this time of the year and high school recruiting ramps up earlier than ever before as well. This also is the time that coaches could leave Georgia, and unfortunately for UGA they lost two coaches on Thursday.

Georgia loses to coaches on the first day of the offseason
The first coach to announce his departure from Georgia is David Hill. He has been working in an off the field role on Kirby Smart's staff, and he is accepted a position at Colorado State to become their new running backs coach.
David Metcalf is the second off the field coach on Smart's staff who announced his departure from the program on Friday as well. He will be heading to Western Kentucky to become their new safeties coach.
Neither one of these losses will impact Georgia very much since both coaches were in an off the field position. Any coach in those positions tends to move around frequently as they look to work their way up the coaching ladder, so these departures were expected at some point.
These two coaches join Will Muschamp as the three coaches to leave Georgia this offseason as Muschamp left to become the new defensive coordinator at Texas.
Smart will have to find replacements for all three of these coacehs, but these losses really won't be that difficult to overcome. The hope now is that Smart will find great replacements and that Georgia won't lose any key coaches who have more of an impact on the team.
