There are a lot of positive takeaways to have after Georgia's 41-21 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday. But arguably the greatest takeaway is that UGA finally played a full 60 minutes.

All season Georgia has failed to play well for an entire game, and those struggles usually came in the first half. They have had to rely on huge second half runs just to come away with a close victory, and while it is nice that Georgia was still winning these games, this formula is not ideal for long term success.

But Georgia seems like they have found an answer for their slow starts as they made a statement against Mississippi State that they are one of the most complete teams in the country. And that is the reason why the College Football Playoff committee should reward the Bulldogs in their updated rankings on Tuesday.

The College Football Playoff committee can't ignore Georgia now

Georgia came in at No. 5 in the first edition of the CFP rankings last week. This ranking was very fair as Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M and Alabama all deserved to be above Georgia at the time, but that may no longer be the case.

Georgia has finally shown the committee how great they can be when they play a full 60 minutes, and when UGA does that there is no team in the country they can't beat. But is that good enough for them to move up in the rankings this week? It should be, especially after Indiana barely survived against a 3-6 Penn State team.

The Hoosiers needed a last second drive that ended with one of the best catches of the season just to beat Penn State. While winning is the only thing that matters, they shouldn't be rewarded for barely beating as bad of a team as Penn State is. So if the CFP committee was paying attention on Saturday, they would see that there is a great argument to move Indiana behind Georgia in their updated rankings.

Will the committee actually do that? Probably not, but Georgia showed the college football world how great of a team they are. Now UGA just needs to hope that the committee will reward them for their dominant performance against Mississippi State at some point.
