Georgia just beat Alabama on the road this past weekend which likely will be their most difficult game in the regular season. Most people would assume that Georgia has at least a couple more hard games left on their schedule, but that isn’t that true.
Three of their final six games are extremely easy, but the other three may seem difficult on paper but they might not actually be that challenging at all.
Florida and Ole Miss aren’t as good as they seem
Florida and Ole Miss are two of the most difficult games left on Georgia’s schedule. A few weeks ago they seemed like extremely hard matchups, but that isn’t the case after the last few weeks.
Three weeks ago Florida blew Ole Miss out 52-28. This seemed like a great win for them since everyone thought Ole Miss was an extremely good team after they just beat LSU, but then the wheels fell for Florida. After beating Ole Miss they lost to Missouri and South Carolina and are no longer ranked.
Ole Miss on the other hand still only has Florida as their only loss, but the Gators looking as bad as they do makes it seem like they aren’t that strong either. LSU is the signature win for Ole Miss but they just lost their second game to Kentucky, so it’s hard to say that Ole Miss has any notable wins at this point in the year.
It still won’t be easy to beat Florida or Ole Miss this season, but it probably won’t be as difficult as Georgia fans thought a few weeks ago.
Missouri may be the biggest challenge left for Georgia
While Florida and Ole Miss may not be as difficult of a game as Georgia once thought, their future matchup against Missouri is much more difficult than originally anticipated.
The Tigers have been a bit of a surprise team in the SEC as they are 5-1 and ranked No. 13 in the country. Their lone loss came on the road to a good Mississippi State who they only lost to by seven points. Beyond that they’ve won the rest of their games which includes wins over Texas A&M and Florida.
Georgia and Missouri play on Nov. 14, so UGA will find out just how good they are before then. This week Missouri travels to Ole Miss and they also host Texas on Nov. 7, so if they keep winning against these high caliber teams they will be a huge threat to Georgia next month when they come to Athens.
Georgia will likely be favored against Missouri, but it may not be by as many points as anyone would’ve guessed at the start of the season. This game however could be the most difficult left on their schedule, but if that’s the case then Georgia is in a good spot halfway through the season.
