There are a few quarterbacks that Georgia football has shown interest in from the 2027 recruiting class, but up until this point none have given the Bulldogs much in return. That however changed on Friday as four-star quarterback Teddy Jarrard has reportedly named Georgia one of his top schools.

4-star in-state quarterback giving Georgia a chance
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Jarrard is the No. 217 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 28 player from the state of Georgia and the No. 17 QB in the 2027 recruiting class.
Georgia usually is a place where it is easy to attract top quarterback recruits, but that however won’t be the case with the 2027 class. While earning five-star quarterback Jared Curtis’s commitment earlier this year will always be worth it, that will make life more challenging with the 2027 class because these recruits won’t want to sign up to sit behind Curtis during their career at Georgia.
So the thought process has been that Georgia’s best chance at landing a quarterback in the 2027 class is from an in-state recruit that wants to stay close to home. Jarrard fits that description to perfection because he is from Kennesaw, GA.
This very well could be Georgia’s best chance at an elite QB in the 2027 class because a fellow Peach State quarterback just committed to Clemson earlier this week. So while Georgia will go after other QBs as well, Jarrard may be UGA’s best chance.
No official predictions have been placed in this recruitment yet, but On3 does name Kirby Smart and Georgia as the slight favorite right now. But this recruitment has a lot of time left in it, so any lead the Bulldogs may have right now doesn’t matter much until Jarrard’s recruitment starts ramping up more.
