What a win it was for the Georgia Bulldogs! After getting swept only a few weeks ago during their weekend series in Norman, Tony Baldwin's Bulldogs got it done vs. OU in Lexington. After being down 5-0 early to the Sooners, the Bulldogs battled back to win it in convincing fashion, 10-5. Emily Digby had the clutch three-run homer, while Presley Harrison could do no wrong in her 6.2 innings of work.
By winning this game, Georgia has a real shot at getting a top-eight seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Georgia's win means a lot of things. If the Bulldogs knock off Texas and even win the SEC Tournament, they could be a Top Eight seed potentially.

This also opens the door for Alabama to be the No. 1 overall seed. https://t.co/o8af2qlfd1
For this to manifest, No. 9-seeded Georgia will need to beat No. 4-seeded Texas on Friday night in Lexington, as well as the winner of the other semifinal between No. 2-seeded Alabama and No. 3-seeded Florida. Since these are all neutral-site games in the SEC Tournament, it all resets during the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. A top-eight seed means hosting in the Super Regionals...
Maybe there was method behind the madness in Randi Roelling poking the bear after beating LSU?
How could Georgia earn home-field advantage in NCAA Tournament?
According to Brady Vernon of Softball America, this upset win by Georgia over Oklahoma puts the Bulldogs within striking distance of potentially earning a top-eight seed in the NCAA Tournament. If they were to beat Texas on Friday, that dream becomes even more of a reality. A subsequent win over either Alabama or Florida in the SEC Tournament Championship game would certainly guarantee that.
Again, the reason getting a top-eight seed is so huge is not only would Georgia be one of 16 regional hosts in the women's tournament, but should the Bulldogs get out of Athens alive in effectively group stage, they would then be one of eight teams hosting in the Super Regionals in a best-of-three. The winner of each super regional will get to play in the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.
Right now, the Bulldogs need to take it one day at a time. Every pitch and every at-bat matters. The SEC Tournament has proven to be an unforgiving gauntlet. While it has served underseeded teams like Georgia time and time again, they are still the least likely one to win the SEC Tournament now with Alabama, Florida, and Texas all seeded in the top four. Of course, Georgia just defeated Oklahoma...
For now, Georgia should feel great about its chances going up against anyone in the postseason.
