Georgia and Texas are in the middle of an intense recruiting rivalry that is taking over the college football world. The Bulldogs and Longhorns battled it out for four five-star recruits this summer, and unfortunately Texas was able to come out on top in three of those recruitments. This includes stealing former Georgia commit James Johnson two weeks after he originally committed to UGA.
The Bulldogs still have a better overall recruiting class than Texas, but there's no denying that they want to get their revenge on Texas as soon as possible. The best way to get their revenge is by stealing a recruit currently committed to the Longhorns, and Georgia appears to have found the recruit they want to steal from Texas.

4-star Texas commit plans trip to Georgia
Taven Epps is a four-star EDGE who has been committed to Texas since April. According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, Epps is the No. 103 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 15 EDGE in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 11 player from his home state of California.
Even though Epps has been committed to Texas for four months now, his recruitment is not over. In fact, it appears his recruitment is far from over as Rivals' Adam Gorney has reported that Epps plans to take four additional visits to other schools this season. Georgia is one of those four schools along with North Carolina, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
Georgia clearly has a lot of work to do if they are going to beat out these other programs and steal Epps from Texas, but it's clear that Kirby Smart has his attention. And what better way to remind Texas who the better program is than by stealing one of their top commits in the 2027 class.
