One of Georgia football’s most exciting commits is four-star wide receiver Brady Marchese. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Marchese is the No. 250 overall player in the country and the No. 42 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class. He also is the No. 29 player from the Peach State as well.

Marchese committed to Georgia back on March 15, and since then he has seemed completely locked in with the Bulldogs. That however changed a couple weeks ago when Marchese took an official visit to Michigan on May 30.

Marchese did take his official visit to Georgia this past weekend, and the fact he took this visit made it seem like a potential flip to Michigan was no longer on the table. Unfortunately that is not the case as On3’s Steve Wiltfong just predicted Marchese to flip from Georgia to the Wolverines.

Georgia on verge of losing key WR commit

Recruits changing their mind and flipping to a new school is not uncommon in recruiting nowadays at all. However, Georgia fans don’t expect it to happen to them because UGA is one of the top programs in the entire country. So losing a recruit to any school will always be tough to overcome.

However, what makes this potential loss bad is that Michigan is coming off a very poor season. The Wolverines finished 7-5 during the 2024 regular season, which is pretty pitiful for a program of their caliber.

But to make it even worse, Marchese is an in-state recruit for Georgia. So losing a player in Georgia’s backyard is bad no matter who they flip to.

The good news for Georgia is that even if Marchese does flip to Michigan there’s still plenty of time for them to convince him to change his mind. If he was willing to flip once then he would definitely be willing to do it again.

But for now, this recruitment appears to be going Michigan’s way which is very unfortunate to see.
