One of Georgia football’s top remaining targets in the 2026 recruiting class is five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro. Recent reports have surfaced indicating that Prothro is ready to announce his commitment, and he is scheduled to do so on July 12. Prothro will also be deciding between Georgia, Texas and Florida when he announces his commitment next month.
Sometimes it’s hard to get a good read on recruitments for five-star recruits because so many elite programs are pursuing them. While that has been the case with Prothro at times throughout his recruitment, On3’s Steve Wiltfong officially predicted Georgia to win his recruitment on Monday.
#Georgia has just received a prediction to land 5-star TE Kaiden Prothro by Steve Wiltfong of ON3. 🐶

Multiple insiders side with Georgia to win Kaiden Prothro’s recruitment
Not only did Wiltfong make this prediction on Monday, but so too did Rivals insider Radi Nabulsi. Nabulsi is a Georgia insider while Wiltfong is a national recruiting expert, so it is a great sign when both ends of the spectrum agree that Kirby Smart and Georgia are trending for Prothro.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Prothro is the No. 25 overall recruit in the country. He also is the No. 3 tight end in the 2026 recruiting class as well as the No. 3 player from the state of Georgia.
Georgia fans unfortunately will have to wait about three more weeks until Prothro announces his commitment, but all signs now point to good news for UGA. So while Georgia fans wait for this announcement next month, they can imagine how electric of a duo Prothro will be alongside current five-star Georgia quarterback commit Jared Curtis to help pass the time by.
So make sure to set a reminder for July 12, because this day has the potential to be one of the best days for Georgia so far in this recruiting cycle.
