Georgia football didn’t have the season anyone was hoping for, but overall it wasn’t terrible. The Bulldogs finished the season 12-2 and won their second consecutive SEC Championship which earned them the No. 3 seed in the College Football Playoff.

Georgia unfortunately came up short in their quarterfinal matchup against Ole Miss, and it’s that loss that will leave a sour taste in UGA’s mouth for a long time.

While a 12-2 record is something to be proud of, the way it ended isn’t good enough for Kirby Smart and Georgia. But even though a 12-2 record is pretty average for UGA, the Bulldogs still accomplished a rare feat that potentially has never happened in the history of college football.

Georgia set a record in 2025 that no one expected

Georgia suffered two losses this season. Those losses came to Alabama and Ole Miss. However, Georgia also beat both of those teams this season as well.

Alabama got the best of Georgia early in the season, but the Bulldogs got their revenge in dominant fashion in the SEC Championship game. Ole Miss on the other hand lost to Georgia in their first meeting in mid-October, but the Rebels got the last laugh in the CFP.

So even though Georgia lost two games this season, they still beat every team they played. And it’s probably safe to assume this is the first time that has ever happened in college football history.

Sure there have been a lot of teams that have beat everyone on their schedule, Georgia just did that in 2022 and Indiana may do that this season. But has any team ever finished with two losses and still beat everyone on their schedule? Probably not.

Unfortunately this isn’t a record Georgia was hoping to set this season, but this does show just how good UGA actually was this season.
