Georgia football has a large number of elite recruits visiting campus this weekend when the Bulldogs took down Tennessee 31-17. One of those talented recruits was QB Ryan Montgomery, who has been committed to Georgia's 2025 recruiting class since mid-April.

All summer it seemed like Kirby Smart and Georgia were locked in on Montgomery being the one and only QB in Georgia's recruiting class. However, that has changed in the last couple weeks.

Smart and his staff have made multiple offers to other QBs in Montgomery's class, and even had two QBs visiting Georgia this weekend alongside Montgomery. This sets up a potentially awkward encounter because it is rare for schools to recruit more than one QB in the same recruiting class. But it appears that Smart feels the need to do that this year.

So the question on everyone's mind is how Montgomery feels about that. Is he turned off by this or does he not really care?

Montgomery was asked about this over the weekend and had this to share.

“I understand it is a business,” Montgomery said via dawgnation.com. “I totally understand that and I really don’t have any problem with that. I understand that it sucks but I might be out for spring ball. I understand that they need an extra arm. They can bring in whoever they want. It is not going to affect me whatsoever. I know they just offered Jaron from Hawaii and I actually talked to him a lot at the Elite 11.”

Montgomery not phased by recent developments

Thankfully Montgomery does not seem to care that Smart and his staff are looking to add another QB to their recruiting class this cycle. In fact, it appears he completely understands why they are doing this in the first place.

Montgomery has been sidelined for most of his high school season after suffering a season ending knee injury. This injury, as Montgomery later stated, makes it unlikely that he'll be able to participate in spring ball at Georgia in a few months as well. So Montgomery understands that Smart and his staff are only looking to add another QB because his health is a big question mark.

It remains to be seen if Georgia will in fact add another QB to their class or not, but it is reassuring knowing that Montgomery isn't going anywhere, even if a second QB is added to the class.
