Jared Curtis might be the most hyped up recruit in recent Georgia football history. It’s easy to see why because he is the No. 2 quarterback in the country and the No. 5 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
However, at the end of the day rankings don’t mean that much, all that truly matters is how Curtis performs on the field.
It likely will still be a few years before Curtis takes the field at Georgia for the first time, but he is already drawing comparisons to a former UGA superstar quarterback and No. 1 overall draft pick.
Strongest arm I've seen in person since Matt Stafford https://t.co/vCeOcEWPOG

Jared Curtis already drawing comparisons to Matthew Stafford
Curtis had the first game of his senior season on Friday and as one would assume he was extremely impressive. He not only showed off his talent through the air with countless breathtaking throws, but he also made a few huge plays on the ground with his legs as well.
But one throw in particular really stood out as Curtis added some extra zip on a throw that found his receiver in the end zone. This clip went viral on social media, and Rivals insider Radi Nabulsi quickly compared his arm strength to former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Comparisons don’t get much better than that because Stafford was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. Stafford then went on to set multiple NFL records and win the Super Bowl during his first season with the Los Angeles Rams.
Stafford however didn’t find the team success at Georgia that anyone was hoping for. He also didn’t win as many individual awards as some thought he could have.
Curtis being compared to Stafford is obviously a huge honor, but the hope is that he will find more individual and team success at Georgia than Stafford was able to find.
