Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis is the headliner of Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class. Curtis committed to the Bulldogs for the second time this cycle in the beginning of May, and this commitment was the catalyst for Georgia’s impressive recruiting run over the past month.

This momentum was expected because Curtis is one of the best players in the country. In fact, Curtis is regarded as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class by most high school recruiting experts. But not everyone agrees with that statement as Rivals recently dropped Curtis in their recruiting rankings.

Jared Curtis falls in Rivals recruiting rankings

According to Rivals most recent recruiting update from earlier this week, Curtis is now the No. 4 quarterback in the country. This ranking is still extremely good, especially considering Rivals has Curtis as their No. 10 overall player, but being the No. 4 QB is quite the drop off from No. 1.

The good news for Georgia is that Curtis is still the top ranked quarterback according to the other recruiting sites. The On3 industry rankings and 247Sports composite rankings both have Curtis as their No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class and the No. 2 overall player. It’s also worth mentioning that these rankings are much more respected than the Rivals rankings as well.

It is however still a little unfortunate to see Rivals drop Curtis in their rankings. Rivals has a lot of respected recruiting analysts who know how to evaluate players, so there’s a chance this ranking is more accurate than the other sites.

But at the end of the day, none of this really matters. Curtis is an elite talent, and being the No. 1 quarterback or the No. 4 QB doesn’t change a thing. Georgia got their guy at the end of the day, and the future is bright with Curtis no matter what his ranking is.
