It's official, Jared Curtis is a Georgia Bulldog once again. It's been a long time coming for Georgia and Curtis as their history runs deep, but in the end Curtis's decision was what it always has been, he is a Bulldog and he is not turning back this time.

How did Georgia and Curtis get here?

Curtis was previously committed to Georgia throughout much of 2024 as he first made his pledge to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs on March 23, 2024. That commitment however did not stick as he decommitted from the program in October.

Curtis then re-opened his recruitment where he showed interest in a few schools. However, he pretty quickly found out that he loved Georgia and Oregon more than every other program, so he cut his recruitment down to focus on those two schools.

The past few months have been an intenese. bettle with the Ducks, with Oregon being publicly named the early favorite by Curtis himself. But that didn't stop Georgia as they continued their pursuit which ultimately resulted in a second commitment from the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class.

What does this mean for Georgia?

This commitment from Georgia is huge for so many reasons. Curtis's commitment now gives UGA the most recruiting momentum in the country as they shoot up the 247Sports team rankings from No. 26 to No. 17. While this is still nowhere near good enough, every school above Georgia has more commits, so there is no need to panic.

Another reason why Georgia fans shouldn't be worried is because of the impact a commitment from the top ranked quarterback has on a program. The best players in the country want to play with other elite players, so every other top recruit is now more likely to want to follow Curtis's lead and come play for Georgia.

So while Georgia fans wait for who that next commitment will be (with five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell being the most likely option), everyone should take this time to celebrate like crazy, because there isn't anything much better than landing the top ranked quarterback in the country.
