Georgia football is only two weeks away from their season opener against Marshall, but that doesn’t mean UGA fans have to wait that long to watch some football. The high school football season officially began this week which means Georgia fans can watch UGA’s commits begin their senior seasons as they anticipate seeing their arrival in Athens next year.
Considering Georgia has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, there are a lot of players that Georgia fans should be extremely interested in watching. One of those players is four-star running back Jae Lamar, who just pulled off an impressive trick play Friday night.

Jae Lamar impresses with trick play throw Friday night
It’s not very often that football fans get to see a running back throw a pass, but that is exactly what Lamar did in the first game of his senior season. Not only did he get to throw a pass, but he was able to complete it which helped set up a touchdown later in the drive for his team.
The social media post highlighting this play did unfortunately share that Lamar was playing through a sprained ankle Friday night. It clearly didn’t bother him on this play, but that injury is something to monitor going forward.
While Lamar is currently committed to Georgia, a new report from Rivals this week indicated that he may not be as locked in as Georgia fans originally thought. He reportedly is looking to schedule visits this fall to a few other programs including Florida State, Miami (FL) and Auburn.
Thankfully no visits have been scheduled yet, so Georiga fans shouldn’t worry too much until it actually happens. So for now Georgia fans can sit back and enjoy highlight plays like this because it could just be a matter of time until Lamar is making big plays like this in Athens.
