The Georgia Bulldogs currently have the No. 1-ranked recruiting class for 2026 according to 247Sports, and head coach Kirby Smart has shown that he is still the top dog when it comes to recruiting. Each player in this class has high potential to really make a difference once they step on the field.
One player in particular is showing why Georgia wanted him so bad in the first place. Jae Lamar, a 4-star running back out of Moultrie, Georgia, who has elite speed and just showcased it in a workout video posted to X (formerly known as Twitter).
In the video, Lamar can be seen running a 40-yard dash and ran it with a 4.38 time, which is great for running backs. The fastest 40-yard dash time by a running back in the NFL combine is 4.24 seconds by Chris Johnson, so Lamar still has a ways to go before he breaks that record, but the speed he is showing, especially before getting to college, is still something to get fans very excited about.

Lamar is the only running back commit in the Class of 2026 for the Georgia Bulldogs, so coming in, he won't have competition within his recruiting class, but he could be on he field. The Bulldogs struggled to run the ball effectively last season, with freshman Nate Frazier leading the way with 671 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
If Frazier is still in Athens by the time Lamar steps on campus, then that would be the young running back's biggest competition, but if Frazier is gone, Lamar could step right into the starting role at Georgia.
This kind of speed is great for the offense as it adds more problems for the defense ot have to plan for. If Lamar can break through the line and hit the second level in another gear, he could have big yardage on some plays and may even for for a touchdown.
