A new rumor emerged on Friday that sent Georgia fans into a frenzy. A Rivals insider seemingly out of nowhere posted on social media that LSU could be interested in stealing Georgia Athletic Director Josh Brooks from UGA.
And this post made it seem like Brooks would potentially be interested.
But only a few hours later Brooks took to social media to share a post of his own. And that post calmed the nerves of every Georgia fan because he went over the top to confirm that LSU had not reached out to him and that he wouldn’t be interested even if they did.
Georgia fans — with success often comes speculation, but I want to address it directly. I have not been contacted by anyone at LSU, and more importantly, I have no interest in any other job. My full focus remains on the University of Georgia, our student-athletes, coaches, staff,…

Josh Brooks shoots down rumors of LSU interest
LSU has made headlines for all the wrong reasons over the last week. It began with them firing head football coach Brian Kelly after another disappointing start to their season. Just a few days later they then decided to fire their Athletic Director after the Lousiana Governor said he wanted him to have nothing to do with hiring their next head coach.
So not only was LSU down a head football coach and Athletic Director, it also sounds like state politicians had their hands all over their athletic department as well. So that just sounds like a disaster of a situation for anyone to enter.
But Brooks was an obvious candidate for them because of the great job he has done at Georgia since becoming Athletic Director. On top of that, Brooks graduated from LSU as well, so maybe he would feel drawn to go save the Tigers and help build their program back up.
But Georgia fans thankfully don’t have to worry about that. Brooks himself has confirmed that he isn’t going anywhere this offseason, and it sounds like he has no interest in leaving Georgia anytime soon.
