Georgia football has been the top program in the SEC in the 2026 team recruiting rankings for quite some time now. Georgia however has been in jeopardy of losing that title to a couple rivals over the last couple weeks.
But even after a few SEC teams got hot on the recruiting trail, the Bulldogs still have the No. 1 recruiting class in the conference according to Rivals.

Georgia still sits atop the SEC recruiting rankings
One of the teams who has been catching up to Georgia in the team recruiting rankings is Alabama. The Tide are a familiar foe to Georgia both on and off the field, so seeing them have recruiting success is nothing new. But Alabama’s recent run has been just as impressive as ever before.
The Tide have been able to rack up four commitments from five-star recruits in the 2026 class, which is the most out of any team in the country. Even with that dominant run however, the Tide still trail Georgia by a good margin in the recruiting rankings.
Texas is the other SEC team who has been coming on strong recently as well. The Longhorns most recently stole three recruits from Georgia in less than a week. But even though Texas beat out Georgia in those key recruitments, UGA is still above the Longhorns in the rankings.
Georgia now has their eyes set on getting back to the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. Overall they sit at No. 2 and trail USC by the slimmest of margins, so one more commitment for Georgia could get the job done.
But at the end of the day, these rankings from Rivals is a great reminder of how impressive Georgia’s recruiting has been this offseason. The Bulldogs earned a whopping 16 commits in the 2026 class throughout June, and it’s that success that is continuing to carry them throughout the month of July.
