The 2025 recruiting class rankings are officially in the books. Every major recruiting site has published their final player rankings, meaning the team rankings are also finalized as well. And to no one’s surprise, Georgia football’s 2025 class finished at No. 2 in the country.
This marks the third year in a row that Kirby Smart was able to sign a top two class.
Whenever any team signs this talented of a class, the assumption is that there will be at least a handful of players that will be able to play and make a significant impact on the field during their true freshman season. That is most certainly the case every year at Georgia as there is always at least a few freshman that shine on the field every season.
So one would assume that at least one of Georgia’s talented recruits would be included in a list of true freshman from the 2025 class who could make an immediate impact in the fall. That however was not the case according to 247Sports’ Chris Hummer’s “All-Impact Team.”
Where are Georgia’s recruits?
Hummer released a list of 22 recruits in the 2025 class who he believes could make an impact on the field at their schools next season. And he somehow made the decision to not include one player from Georgia’s incoming class.
To be fair to Hummer, his list does include one player from every position on offense and defense, so it makes sense that there isn’t a large amount of Georgia players included. But to not include one of Georgia’s incoming recruits is shocking considering Georgia signed four recruits who are the No. 1 ranked player at their position in the 2025 class.
Maybe Hummer thinks very highly of Georgia’s returning players which could make it tough for an extremely talented freshman to make an impact. But guys like Elijah Griffin, Isaiah Gibson and even Talyn Taylor will more than likely become players Georgia fans become huge fans of this season because of the impact they have on the field.
It will be interesting to look back on this list at the end of this season to see if all 22 players had great seasons or not. But it feels more than likely that Georgia fans will be able to make a great argument as to why one of UGA’s freshman should have been included over someone on this list.
