Georgia is entering their matchup against Florida as a sizable favorite over the Gators. Many fans may have expected to be favored by more than 7.5 points, but a touchdown favorite is a respectable number for UGA to be favored by.
Even if Georgia is expected to win this game, it will not be easy. Florida has a lot of advantages in their favor, and this includes not having any pressure on them which coincidently is one of the biggest disadvantages Georgia has to overcome.
Georgia's largest disadvantage is something Florida can take advantage of
The Gators enter this matchup at 3-4 and in their first game since firing Billy Napier. They also are the underdog which means absolutely no one expects them to win. Florida will be able to use the fact that they are expected to lose to their advantage because there is no pressure on them to perform at a high level.
Georgia on the other hand has a lot of pressure on them. Not only would this be one of the most embarrassing losses in this rivalry's history, but it would also ruin the rest of Georgia's season.
A loss to Florida on Friday would make it nearly impossible for them to make it to Atlanta to play for an SEC Championship. On top of that, Georgia would be on their last lifeline when it comes to making it to the College Football Playoff. This is a lot of pressure on a Georgia team that has been inconsistent all season, so if Florida plays their cards right they can take advantage of this.
Even though Florida is one of the worst teams left on Georgia's schedule, this potentially is the scariest game left for UGA to play. The Gators have a lot of good players and they have absolutely nothing to lose on Saturday. And that is a scary combination for a team like Georgia who as much pressure as anyone else in the country.
