Georgia's biggest worry quickly vanished thanks to one overlooked quote

Georgia currently has five players committed to their 2027 recruiting class. One of those commits however hasn't been acting like a commit recently. That player is Donte Wright.

Wright is a five-star corner that has been committed to Georgia since June of 2025. However, ever since then he has continued to flirt with other schools and take some visits to other programs as well. This has made him seem like the most likely commit to decommit and flip to a new school, but one quote is being overlooked that tells a completely different story.

5-star Georgia commit feels as secure as ever before

The above post links an article discussing five-star running back commit Kemon Spell and his efforts in helping recruit more players to Georgia. However, in the post discussing this article Wright is mentioned as another person who is helping recruit other players as well. He specifically is helping Spell convince four-star wide receiver Amare Patterson that Georgia is the right place for him.

So if Wright was seriously thinking about flipping away from Georgia why would he be helping recruit other players to UGA? He likely wouldn't be.

So what does this mean for Georgia? This means that one of the highest ranked recruits in the country may be more locked in with Georgia than anyone thought. And that is a huge deal considering he is a five-star recruit and the No. 30 overall player in the country, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

There is always a chance that things could change and Wright ends up flipping to a different school. At this point it still feels likely that he will continue taking visits to other schools right now as well. But as it stands today Wright feels like someone who is happy to be committed to Georgia which is awesome to see because it didn't always seem that way.
