Georgia currently has five commits in their 2027 recruiting class which is good enough to give them the No. 8 class in the country. The No. 1 recruit in Georgia's class at this point is four-star corner Donte Wright who is a top 50 player in the country.
Wright has been committed to Georgia since last June, but it appears like he is beginning to drift away from UGA a little bit. In fact, he is drifting so far away from Georgia that it doesn't really feel like he is committed right now.
Georgia's top commit isn't showing UGA much love
Rivals' Adam Gorney shared on Friday that there are two programs who currently in the mix with Wright. He didn't specifically say who is still in the mix for Wright, but the fact that any program is making waves with him is a problem.

This obviously is not the update anyone wants to see. It’s not surprising that teams are continuing to pursue Wright because he is the No. 31 player in the country, but the troubling part is that he is actually listening to them.
At recruit that is committed to a school shouldn’t be listening to any other school’s pitch. If they are then are they actually committed? Technically they are, but in reality if they are debating going to another school they are not committed, and unfortunately for Georgia that is what is happening with Wright.
The news gets even worse for Georgia because this isn’t the first report that has come out about Wright showing interest in other schools.
So while he is technically still committed to Georgia, it doesn’t really feel like it. Hopefully Wright will stop listening to these other schools because at that point he will be locked in with Georgia, but until that happens he really shouldn’t be considered a UGA commit.
