The Georgia Bulldogs are the reigning SEC Champions, and repeating this season is going to be tough. Looking at the 2025 slate, Georgia could be heading into one of their toughest seasons in a long time, and ESPN Football Power Index projected ratings just confirmed that.

The FPI projected ratings are a rating system that estimates each FBS team's strength on offense, defense, and special teams, making adjustments for player and personnel changes. Those numbers are then put into the schedule, and everything is simulated 20,000 times to track each team's odds of winning their conference, making the CFP, and making it to the National Championship.

In ESPN's updated FPI ratings, Georgia came in at No. 2, just behind the Texas Longhorns, and was given a 78.6% chance of making it to the College Football Playoff and a 17.5% chance of making it to the National Championship.

Based on these FPI ratings, ESPN put together the Top 20 most highly anticipated games of the 2025 college football season, and the Georgia Bulldogs showed up on that list many times, six to be exact. That means that half of Georgia's football schedule is on that list, making it a very tough schedule.

Here is each game on the list and where it landed in the top 20:

1. No. 1 Texas vs. No. 2 Georgia (99.3 game quality)
3. No. 3 Alabama vs. No. 2 Georgia (97.6 game quality)
4. No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 10 Tennessee (96.2 game quality)
7. No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 14 Auburn (94.6 game quality)
15. No. 18 Florida vs. No. 2 Georgia (91.9 game quality)
17. No. 13 Ole Miss vs. No. 2 Georgia (91.0 game quality)

The Georgia Bulldogs will have one of the toughest college football schedules

The Georgia Bulldogs will have to face a lot of heavy hitters this season, and the FPI ratings and anticipated games prove that. Looking at ESPN's resume strength of schedule, the Bulldogs have the eighth toughest schedule in 2025.

Playing in the SEC is already tough enough; at that point, every SEC game is like a playoff game, but the Bulldogs will get some reprieve with their non-conference game. Georgia's non-conference schedule consists of Marshall, Austin Peay, Charlotte, and their rival Georgia Tech, who gave the Bulldogs a run for their money last season.

Kirby Smart will have to have his team in top shape heading into the season because repeating as SEC Champions will be tough, let alone winning a National Championship.
