The Georgia Bulldogs are known to have one of the loudest stadiums in the country. When you have a max capacity of over 93,000, it is bound to get loud and hostile. Right now, the Oklahoma Sooners are feeling that noise.
Mistakes and constant timeouts needed has been the biggest story of the game so far, and it does not look to slow down any time soon.
Georgia crowd making early impact vs Oklahoma
In the first quarter alone Oklahoma has used two of its three timeouts due to the crowd noise. These timeouts happen when the offense cannot communicate or hear each other over crowd noise, and the play clock dwindles nearly down to zero. The opposing team calls the timeout to avoid a five yard penalty.
It has gotten to the point that Oklahoma even got a delay of game penalty on a punt. A play not worth calling a timeout for, but helped set up Georgia's next drive in solid field position. A play that should also be one of the more self-explanatory and easy calls to communicate, but Georgia's crowd is saying otherwise.

The Georgia Bulldogs have "striped out Sanford" today, coordinating to strip the stadium in colors of red, white, and black. The only other time the Bulldogs have done this was last year's home game against the Ole Miss Rebels, where they won a shootout by a score of 43-35.
While Georgia fans would have been loud regardless, it is already proving to be extremely impactful. The crowd looks good and the noise level is loud. The Bulldogs are up two possessions as of the early second quarter, and players are playing good. Time will tell what is to come of this game, but things are already looking solid for Kirby Smart's squad.
This is far from the first time Georgia's crowd has made such an impact in a crucial game in the regular season. Some historic examples include Georgia's two national championship seasons. The Georgia crowd greatly impacted Tennessee when they came to play Georgia in 2022 as well as when they played Arkansas in 2021. Today, it looks like a similar story might be written.
Smart will definitely be pleased with the crowd's involvement. So far, they have been the 12th man for the football team. Oklahoma has yet to have an answer, and honestly, how could anyone against a crowd like Georgia's.
