The AP Poll kept Georgia at No. 5 in their latest rankings after UGA's second bye week of the season. Considering no one ranked above Georgia lost it was more than fair to keep them at No. 5, but not everyone agrees with this ranking.
ESPN's Booger McFarland released his top five teams after this weekend's games, and Georgia was nowhere to be found. He included Indiana, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Alabama above Georgia just like the AP Poll, but he curiously put Notre Dame in as his No. 5 team.
There are a few teams who could be put at No. 5 ahead of Georgia, but Notre Dame is a team that should not be in that conversation. But McFarland's explanation for putting the Irish in that spot makes no sense whatsoever.

Booger McFarland's top 5 college football teams make no sense
McFarland posed three questions after ranking his top five teams, and these questions explained how he came up with his list. He told fans to look at which teams have been tested, who they have beat, and if they are getting better, and he used these questions to argue that Notre Dame deserves to be at No. 5 ahead of Georgia.
Notre Dame certainly has been tested this season as they faced Texas A&M and Miami this season. But Georgia has been tested as well as they have played Alabama, Tennessee and Ole Miss this year. While both teams have clearly been tested, only one has won a meaningful game. Notre Dame lost their matchups against A&M and Miami while Georgia wa able to defeat Tennessee and Ole Miss.
The Irish do deserve some credit for beating USC, but that win doesn't stack up with the two bigger wins Georgia has.
McFarland also can't ignore the fact that Notre Dame is a two loss team while Georgia has only lost once. So how can he argue that wins matter when he is including a team with two losses over multiple one loss teams that are just as deserving if not more deserving?
Georgia will have their chances to prove McFarland wrong, but entering the home stretch of the season it is unfortunate that some people believe a two loss team is better when they shouldn't even be in the same conversation.
