This may not have been Georgia football's last game of the season, but it was the game that the senior class was honored before the game. And this senior class is a very special one as UGA's 59-21 win over UMass set a school record.

Most wins by class in Georgia history

Gerogia's win over UMass pushed the senior classes record to 51-4, which by the way is the most wins for a class in the entire country. This win also moved this year's senior class into the top spot for the most wins by a class in Georgia football history.

UGA's 2023 senior class ended their career with 50 wins, but this year's class has already passed that mark with a few games left in their careers. Georgia has one more game against Georgia Tech next weekend where they can improve on their record even more. After that it is unknown how many more games Georgia will play this year.

There is still a chance they could play in the SEC Championship game as well as four College Football Playoff games as well. But the max number of postseason wins Georgia could add this season is four, so add that to the Georgia Tech game next week and this senior class could end their careers with 56 wins.

Now that is a record that would probably never be broken.

Georgia has always been a great program since Kirby Smart became head coach, but the last few years are by far the best years in Georgia's history. This class has already won two national championships, including a perfect 15-0 season in 2022. They also won 13 games last year and will reach double digit wins again this season with a win against the Yellow Jackets next week.

So even though Georgia has had their issues this season, UGA fans do need to take a step back and appreciate what this group has done during their time in Athens. They are in the midst of setting a record that may never be broken, and that deserves to be celebrated regardless of what happens the rest of the season.

But let's hope that record has a lot more wins added to it as well as a third national championship by the end of the season.
