It seems like winning a Super Bowl really agrees with former Georgia Bulldog Jordan Davis. After winning the title with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, Davis did some work in the offseason, losing 26 pounds and coming into training camp looking completely different.
The Eagles' defensive tackle weighed in over 350 pounds at the end of the last NFL season, but now is coming in at 330 pounds. The reason behind the big change was for football and also overall life reasons. Davis says he is feeling amazing after losing the weight and feels he can still be big and powerful on the field, even without the extra weight.
"I'm still that Jordan Davis," Davis said. "I'm still gonna be that anchor, I'm still gonna be that same player, but knowing that with this new eight, I can do a lot more."

Davis certainly looks very different from his days as a Georgia Bulldog when he weighed 340 pounds. The change certainly looks good and may help Davis move even better on the field.

Davis was drafted by the Eagles with the 13th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and the Eagles have already exercised the defensive tackle's fifth-year option for the 2026 season. Philadelphia is known for its stout defensive line that can disrupt any quarterback, as seen in their recent Super Bowl win when they were all over NFL star Patrick Mahomes.
In the middle of the line, Davis has made himself known and is a great rusher going after the quarterback and plugging the hole in the run game. Even though Davis isn't in a contract year, extension talks will most likely begin either towards the end of the 2025 season or in the next offseason.
So the change seems more like a life reason, but it should benefit his game as well.
