Brock Williams was one of Georgia's top targets at tight end for a very long time. Unfortunately he has begun trending away from the Bulldogs as he was just predicted to commit to Texas.

While that potential loss does sting it also opens the door for new opportunities, and Kirby Smart doesn't need much of an opening to make an impact on the recruiting trail. In fact, he is already well on his way with an even better tight end in Jaxon Dollar.

Dollar has quickly become Georgia's top target at tight end in the 2027 recruiting class. He just took an official visit this past weekend during G-Day and by all accounts that visit went extremely well.

In fact, he said that he wants to announce his commitment very soon immediately after this visit ended.

This could be great news for Georgia since he made this announcement within days of his official visit to Athens ending. However, Notre Dame still has a prediction in their favor to land Dollar, so Georgia may still have some ground to make up.

It's very clear that they did make up some ground during his G-Day visit though, so at this point anything is possible. And if they do win this recruitment then no one will even remember Williams because Dollar is actually ranked higher on 247Sports' rankings.

It will be interesting to see if Dollar ends up committing in the next couple of weeks or not. If he does then that could be a good sign for Georgia's chances, but Notre Dame is still a very real threat.

But Smart is doing everything he needs to be doing right now to give Georgia a chance, and that's all anyone can ask for.
