Georgia football has exited SEC play with a 7-1 record. It remains to be seen if they will make it to the SEC Championship game or not, but the Bulldogs should be very proud of what they accomplished during conference play regardless.
Georgia will now finish their regular season with two non-conference games before they enter the postseason, and up first is Charlotte. This will be the easiest game of the season for Georgia as Charlotte is 1-9 so far this season, but sometimes an easy game is exactly what a team needs. And in Georgia’s case this has come at the perfect time.
Georgia’s game against Charlotte came exactly when they needed it
No one needs to be told how easy this game will be on Saturday. Georgia is favored by 44.5 points, and as long as they show up to the game on time they will win. So for all intents and purposes this weekend is essentially another bye week for Georgia.
Georgia should use that to their advantage because they potentially have a busy finish to their season. Georgia’s season finale against Georgia Tech will not be easy, and then there’s a chance UGA could play in the SEC Championship game and four playoff games. So the Bulldogs should act like this is a bye week so they can prepare for what lies ahead in the upcoming weeks.
So instead of playing their starters for the entire game, Georgia should run the score up early and get their starters to the bench. This will allow them to avoid any injuries and get their bodies some extra rest that they desperately need.
Obviously Georgia still has to take this game seriously in order to give themselves a chance to get some extra rest, but the goal should be to get up by a lot early so they can take advantage of this opportunity.
