It's officially flip season across the college football recruiting world. Now is the time that recruits start second guessing their commitments as they make their final trips across the country to take in some games in person.
Most of the time Georgia finds a lot of success during flip season, but they do lose out on some of their commits from time to time as well. Unfortunately there is a chance that happens this weekend with Donte Wright, who is the highest ranked commit in Georgia's 2027 recruiting class.
I’ll be in Eugene, Oregon this weekend for my game day visit,,, should be a good 1 #ScoDucks 🦆 @ChadSimmons_ @GregBiggins @adamgorney @On3sports @247Sports @Rivals @LBPoly_Football pic.twitter.com/4rIs9VVY8X

Georgia's top commit is heading elsewhere for a visit
Wright is a four-star corner from Long Beach, CA. According to 247Sports, Wright is the No. 34 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 5 corner in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 3 player from the state of California.
Wright committed to Georgia back in June, but that hasn't stopped other programs from going all out for him. This is especially the case with the west coast schools which includes USC, who currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2026 class. But it's the Oregon Ducks who are the latest school planning to host Wright as he will head to Eugene to visit Oregon as they take on the Indiana Hoosiers in a top 10 showdown.
It's going to be a lot of work for Georgia to hold on to this recruitment. The fact that he is from the other side of the country could play a huge part in his final decision, along with the fact that his recruitment still has over a year to go.
But for now Wright is a member of Georgia's recruiting class and Kirby Smart and his staff will do everything the can to keep it that way.
