Georgia football has had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for a few weeks now. The Bulldogs however are on the verge of losing that title after losing the recruitment for priority four-star offensive lineman Breck Kolojay on Friday.

USC beats Georgia for 4-star OL
Kolojay was potentially the top remaining offensive line target Georgia had in the 2026 recruiting class. The Bulldogs also are missing some firepower when it comes to their offensive line commits in their recruiting class, so Kolojay would have been the perfect addition for UGA.
Unfortunately Kolojay announced his commitment to USC over Georgia, Miami (FL) and Oklahoma on Friday.
Georgia’s biggest competition in the team recruiting rankings in the 2026 class is the Trojans. USC was the team who sat atop the recruiting rankings for most of 2025, but a few weeks ago Georgia was able to steal the top spot from them. This win for USC however pulls them extremely close to surpassing UGA.
Georgia will want to add at least one more offensive lineman to their recruiting class if not two, but at this time it’s unclear who their remaining targets are. But if Kirby Smart and his staff want the future of their offensive line to be secure, they’re going to have to find a few more targets in a hurry.
Georgia fans however shouldn’t be worried. Smart and his staff are the best recruiters in the country, so they surely have a plan in place that will help keep UGA at the top of both the recruiting rankings and the college football world.
However, it would have been nice to win this recruitment so Georgia could devote their recruiting attention to a few other positions. That unfortunately isn’t the reality of their situation thanks to USC who is pushing hard to take the No. 1 team recruiting ranking back from Georgia.
