Five-star quarterback Jayden Wade is Georgia's prized commit in their 2028 recruiting class. He is the No. 1 QB in the country who has been committed to UGA for over a year, but he reportedly is making a visit to Michigan this weekend.
Michigan is one of the best programs in all of college football, so they feel like a team who would be capable of flipping a recruit like Wade from Georgia. They however have had a lot of issues at quarterback this year with Bryce Underwood, and that is Georgia's best pitch to prevent Wade from flipping to the Wolverines.

Bryce Underwood is why Jayden Wade shouldn't flip to Michigan
Michigan is the only program who can stand next to Georgia in the NIL era. Since 2021 both teams are the only Power Four programs who have won three conference titles. Georgia however has won two national championships compared to Michigan's single title, but they have found relatively similar success since the start of the NIL era.
Michigan however has fallen on hard times. They've failed to make the playoff the last two years mainly because of poor quarterback play, and that is the case with current quarterback Bryce Underwood this year who was just benched ahead of the Wolverines next game this weekend.
Underwood was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2025 recruiting class. In fact, he was rated higher than Wade currently is meaning the recruiting sites believe he was a better player out of high school than Wade is right now. Underwood however has only gotten worse throughout his two years at Michigan, and the first game he won't start in his college career just so happens to be the game Wade will visit Michigan this weekend.
This should be a sign to him that he can't fully trust the coaching staff at Michigan to develop him. If they couldn't develop Underwood and eventually had to bench him then it doesn't make much sense for him to go there as well.
Michigan has one offer they can make to Jayden Wade that he may not be able to refuse
While Michigan doesn't have a good track record at developing quarterbacks, they still can try and flip Wade with a large NIL offer.
By now it is well known that Georgia won't make the largest NIL offer for the top recruits they are after. Michigan however has proven they are willing to step up to the plate because they offered Underwood over $12 million to flip from LSU two years ago.
There is a chance that they could do something similar with Wade, but at this point it isn't certain if they will make that kind of offer.
Wade has shown a little interest in Michigan since committing to Georgia, but this is the biggest sign that he may be genuinely interested in flipping there. It may be wise for Georgia to point out how poorly Underwood has developed at Michigan though as they try to convince him to stay true to his commitment.
