Georgia football’s annual G-Day has come to an end, and the red team took home the win against the black team 34-17.

It’s hard to know what that really means because both teams are full of a random group of Bulldogs, so in order to draw any conclusions from the game you have to look at the box score. And the first thing anyone’s going to want to look at is how Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi did.

While most assume Stockton will be the starter this fall, that isn’t a guarantee as Puglisi has the ability to win the job himself. So G-Day is the perfect opportunity for fans to see how this battle is going and for these two to prove why they deserve to be the starter.

So let’s take a look at the box score and see who did better on Saturday.

Stockton cements himself as QB1

While both players had great moments during the scrimmage, it was Stockton who won the day compared to Puglisi. Not only did Stockton’s team win the game, but he had himself a very solid day.

Stockton finished the game completing 17 of 34 passes for 309 yards, two touchdowns and only one interception. Puglisi on the other hand had a solid day as well as he completed 23 of 49 passes for 224 yards. Puglisi also threw two touchdowns as well as one interception.

So it’s pretty clear to see that both players had a solid day, but Stockton had a better completion percentage which gives him the slight edge from this game.

However, even if Stockton appears to still be the frontrunner, Georgia undoubtedly has two great options at QB this year. So if Georgia has another season year with a quarterback injury, the team should be just fine with whoever the backup ends up being.
