Georgia's annual spring game, also known as G-Day, has been a great test for new-look Bulldog teams to get in a real game environment and showcase what they've got. Stars get a few drives in and then the reserves get to show off why they deserve more playing time.

In the QB room, the backups try to prove they can lead an offense and be the field general. This G-Day, all the quarterbacks received a chance to prove themselves. Every quarterback not only looked solid, but they proved that they might be the deepest room in recent memory.

Georgia's QB room might be the deepest it has ever been

Everyone in Athens knows what Gunner Stockton can do. Stockton, while on many Heisman boards this year, had several games where he put the Bulldogs on his back last year.

On Saturday he passed for over 70 yards and a touchdown on limited snaps. It might not sound like a lot, but when passing to an entirely different group of receivers on a limited snap count, it does not get much better than that.

Backup Ryan Puglisi started off shaky but progressed well as the game went along. Granted, miscommunication with receivers in the spring game is very common. The fact that things did turn around during the game should be a great sign for fans. However, Puglisi's pocket presence should be something coaches continue to look at. He stepped into some great throws, but also stepped into a few sacks along the way.

The three freshmen quarterbacks however stole the spotlight on Saturday. Ryan Montgomery, Bryson Beaver, and Hezekiah Millender took on the majority of snaps in the second half of the scrimmage. Montgomery showed very impressive accuracy on his throws, including a sharp toss to CJ Wiley for a gain of 26 on the way to a red team score.

Beaver, the California kid who transferred from Oregon, came in and exploded on offense. Both drives he was in led to scores, including a touchdown pass to the true freshman tight end Kaiden Prothro. Millender on the other hand proved himself as a true dual-threat quarterback. The redshirt freshman made a key 32-yard pass on a 3rd and long situation on a drive that ended with him getting a touchdown on the ground with his legs.

Overall, Georgia's covered as far as passers go. Fans should not be worried about what this season holds or what's in store for the future. The Transfer Portal has changed the outlook of college football, but if these freshman wait their turn like Stockton and Puglisi did, the future of this program is bright.
