Georgia is on top of the college football world after knocking off Alabama Saturday night. This arguably is the best win in college football so far this season and it also might have been the most difficult game on Georgia's schedule this season, so many fans across the country might assume that Georgia will cruise for the rest of the season.

That however is not the case. Just because Georgia beat Alabama doesn't mean the rest of the season will be easy. Just look at Texas who lost to a subpar Oklahoma team this weekend even though they beat a strong Ohio State team earlier this season.

Georgia's win over Alabama shows how great they can be, but it doesn't mean the rest of the season will be a cakewalk. In fact, it might only get harder from here because of a significant increase in pressure that will begin this week against Auburn.

Earning the No. 1 ranking adds even more pressure on Georgia

Georgia should be the new No. 1 team in the country when the updated AP Poll comes out. So far this season they've trailed at least one team in the rankings which gave them something to strive for, but now Georgia will be the team that everyone is chasing.

Having a No. 1 next to Georgia's name will make their opponents even more motivated to beat them. That will especially be the case when Auburn comes to Athens this week who is in desperate need of a big win to save their season. The Tigers are 3-2 and haven't made the leap they were hoping to under their new head coach, so playing No. 1 Georgia on the road is the opportunity they need to get their program moving in the right direction.

Every game Georgia plays while being ranked No. 1 will have more pressure than if they weren't No. 1, but Georgia's ultimate goal is to be the No. 1 team in the country so this is pressure they should welcome with open arms.

Coming off an emotional high is not easy

Sometimes a team can struggle a bit the following week after an emotional win. These teams may celebrate a little too much and overlook their next opponent if they are a step down in competition, and that is the reality Georgia faces this week against Auburn.

Kirby Smart and his staff will do everything they can to make sure their team isn't thinking too highly of themselves after this win, but it's difficult not to. That is especially the case now that Georgia will likely be the No. 1 team in the country. Managing these emotions will not be easy, but that is the task in front of Georgia this week.

All Georgia needs to do is win this one game and then they get to their one bye week this season. Georgia will be able to use this bye week not only to rest and get healthy, but they can also use it as a way to get used to being ranked No. 1 in the country.

Regardless of how great everyone now thinks Georgia is they have to remain focused because they still haven't won anything this season. Beating Alabama is great, but winning championships is far more important and Georgia still has a lot of work to do before they win a title.

Kickoff between Georgia and Auburn is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 at 3:30 pm EST.
